Yarrow Lodge - Bed and Breakfast in a National Nature Reserve

Yarrow Lodge is located in Yarner Wood which is part of the East Dartmoor Woods & Heaths National Nature Reserve located in Dartmoor National Park approximately 1.5 miles from Bovey Tracey.

This comfortable family-run Bed and Breakfast (see picture below, top left)) is the perfect place for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts or those seeking a tranquil place to rest.

We offer two rooms, one double and one single with a shared private bathroom. The guest breakfast room has continuous provision of tea and coffee.

Our sheltered secluded garden has a small stream at the bottom and is surrounded by ancient oak trees.

Walking from Yarrow Lodge

From our front door you can walk straight out into the woodland with lichen and moss covered trees. From April to June there are pied flycatchers (picture below, top right), wood warblers and redstarts with ravens and buzzards overhead. Butterflies are also abundant and you can see pearl bordered fritillary (picture below, bottom left), white admiral (mid-July to mid-August) and silver washed fritillary (July to September).

Adjoining us on the other side is a direct path leading onto the moorland where there are nesting Dartford warblers and nightjars, stonechats and tree pipits.

There are also paths leading to the granite railway (picture below, bottom right) and Templers Way and up through Yarner Wood towards Haytor Down.

Whichever way you go Yarrow Lodge is the ideal place for walkers and wildlife enthusiasts.
